Black Arts Toneworks Son of Pharaoh gives you the sound of already-legendary Pharaoh Fuzz in a smaller package. Same components, same sound and features as in the bigger version.
- Controls:
Volume: adjusts the output volume level.
Gain: controls the amount of overdrive/fuzz depending on the settings of the Hi/Lo- and Ge/Si-switches. Things start off with soft break-up at 7 o'clock, and end with deliciously saturated, full-on fuzz at 5 o'clock.
Hi/Lo-switch: presets the level of the input signal. In 'Hi' the signal will distort more easily, while 'Lo' offers you more clean headroom. Ge/Si-switch: a three-way switch, which allows you to add yet more diodes to the fuzz-circuit.
Middle: No additional diodes added, less distortion, more volume.
Up ('Ge'): adds a germanium-diode to proceedings. The sound gets more compressed and lively.
Down ('Si'): this will add a couple of silicone-diodes to the circuit. This setting gives you the most distortion and sustain.
Tone and High: the pedal's EQ-section. Tone adjusts the overall sound, while High helps you to add treble frequencies to even the fattest sounds. - ﾠPower requirements: 2.1mm 9V DC power supply (negative centre) or 9V battery. Approx. 10 mA.
