Eddie Van Halen's sound in Van Halen's first album has been the inspiration for Mad Professor's "1". The pedal combines a brown sound-stylen distortion with a plate reverb modelling. Goes from medium to high gain, you can control the gain level with your guitar's volume potentiometer.
- Controls:
Level: Sets output volume level.
Brown: Sets the amount of distortion, and also affects harmonic overtones. The distortion sound of 1 is harmonically very rich.
Presence: Works like an amp presence control, affecting high mids.
Reverb: Mix control for reverb. Reverb becomes more prominent towards 5 o'clock.
Internal trimmers: Inside the pedal you will find trimmers for reverb decay and tone. Decay controls the length of reverb. Tone controls the tonal color of reverberated signal, from dark to bright. - Power Requirements: 2.1mm 9V DC centre negative power supply or 9V battery. 82 mA. We do not recommend using a battery, as batteries last only a very short while due to high current consupmtion.
