The aim for designing the Thorpy FX Warthog was to make the best distortion pedal in the world and we think they nailed it. Thick saturated distortion with complex harmonic structure.
- Controls:
Volume: Sets output volume level. Enough headroom to drive your amp into more overdrive if desired.
Tone: Tone control for the pedal. Goes from bass-heavy tones at 7 o'clock to treble-heavy tones at 5 o'clock. Sweet spot for most amps is between 11 to 2 o'clock.
Gain: Controls the amount of gain. Starts from soft and clean overdrive. As the gain is increased you will find heavy distortion sounds and will enter fuzz territory at 5 o'clock.
Calibre: Affects the harmonic structure of the distortion. At 7 o'clock you will get a clear and clean sound. As you open up the control, the harmonic structure starts to reminisc that of a tube amp. Thanks to this contorl the Warthog can be tuned in to work with any amp and guitar. - Power Requirements: 2.1 mm 9V DC centre negative power supply. About 30 mA
