Strymon Orbit gives you classic flanger sounds with
unprecedented control. Strymon has modelled every tiny detail in the
greatest flange effects in history and have also added some brand new
tricks of their own.
- Controls:
Speed: Sets the modulation speed.
Width: Sets the width/depth of modulation. Gets more intense towards 5 o'clock.
Mix: Controls the mix between dry and effected signal. A control rarely found in flangers but is very useful. Dry signal is kept 100% analog.
Regen: Sets the amount of feedback.
Manual: Controls the delay time. The effects of this control can be easily heard with low Width settings and high Regen settings.
Feedback switch: 3-position switch to choose between positive, negative and positive/negative feedback.
In positive mode the dry and effected signal are in phase, resulting in jet engine-like effect with high Regen settings.
In negative mode the sound is hollow and watery.
In positive/negative mode you hear a unique combination of the previous modes, creating whole new flange sounds.
LFO switch: 3-position switch to choose the LFO type. Options are logarithmic, linear and through zero.
In logarithmic mode the frequency of the effect is even thoughout the modulation cycle.
In linear mode the frequency of the effect changes, it goes faster going upwards and gets slower going downwards.
In through zero mode the dry and effected signal change their position, at times the dry signal is ahead, at times behind the effected signal. This is the original flange sound which can be heard on Jimi Hendrix's song Bold as Love and Lenny Kravitz's Are You Gonna Go My Way. The effect was originally produced by varying the speeds of two tape machines.
Favorite switch: You can save your favorite setting behind this footswitch.
