ZVex '59 Sound gives you the sound of a 1959 Fender Bassman in a pedal form. Bassman was the inspiration behind the first Marshall amps (incuding the JTM45), so naturally the basis of the '59 Sound has been ZVex's JTM45 pedal, the Box of Rock. '59 Sound also includes a clean boost, which can be turned on even if the overdrive side is not active. Boost comes after overdrive in the pedal's internal signal chain, so it boosts volume also when the overdrive is active. Cleans up very nicely with guitar's volume pot.
