Strymon Riverside is Strymon's first overdrive pedal, which combines a JFET-based analog preamp and digital modelling into one pedal with many sweet spots.
- Controls:
Level: Sets output volume level.
Drive: Sets the amount of gain. As you turn this knob, the software inside the pedal tweaks different algorithms so you will always have the sweet spot for the gain level you are at.
Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence Switch: Tone Controls for the pedal. With the powerful 3-band EQ and three-position Presence switch you can tweak the EQ to suit your amp, regardless of what amp you are using.
Gain Switch: In Low position the amount of gain is in the low to medium gain territory. In High position the amount of gain goes all the way to heavy distortion when the Drive control is close to 5 o'clock.
Push Switch: Affects the amount of mids. In Norm position you will have a clean-ish, transparent sound. In Mid position the mids are pushed forward which brings thickness to the tone.
Favorite Footswitch: You can save one favorite setting to the Riverside. Saving and recalling is done via the Favorite footswitch (the left footswitch on the pedal).
Expression pedal input: You can control any or all the controls with an expression pedal. - Hidden controls (activated when Tap and Bypass footswitches are pressed down simultaneously while the pedal is on):
Noise Reduction (Under Drive control): Cuts noise and hum.
Boost Level (Under Level control): Sets the amount of volume boost, which can be activated by connecting an external footswitch to the Boost input. Maximum boost +6 decibels. - Power Requirements: 2.1mm 9V DC centre negative power supply, 250 mA. Power supply is provided with the pedal.
